Bolt Action | AMD Panhard 178 Armoured Car | 28mm Resin Vehicle
-
The Panhard 178, colloquially known as the ‘Pan-Pan,’ was an advanced Automitrailleuse de Découverte (AMD or armored reconnaissance car) designed for the French Cavalry before World War II. Initially created to police France’s colonial territories, the Panhard 178 was revolutionary, becoming the first mass-produced 4x4 armored car.
Over 1,100 units were built, equipped with a 25mm main armament and a 7.5mm coaxial machine gun. The Panhard 178 saw action in Norway, Belgium, Holland, and France during the German invasion in 1940. After France's defeat, the Wehrmacht repurposed many Panhards under the designation Panzerspähwagen P204 (f) for use in Operation Barbarossa.
